Professional, loving compassionate, reliable Help
Hi, I'm Jane. I love spending time with people of all ages. I'm experienced with caring for the elderly. I have worked with people in hospice and those who have dementia and alzheimers. I am there for whatever my clients needs are. I help with grooming, setting up and going to doctors appointments and hospital visits, administration of oral medication, signing up for food stamps, cash assistance, rent assistance, physical therapy exercises, video zooms with relatives and friends, with running errands... etc. I enjoy being indoors or out based on the needs, wants, and limitations of my clients. I have excellent communication skills and always keep loved ones in the loop and updated with photos.
A bit about me. I am a native New Yorker located in the west village. I enjoy museums, parks, volunteering and Coney Island. I love dogs and cats. My favorite thing to do is listen to people's stories and share my own stories. I'm fully vaccinated. I have excellent references. I hope to hear from you.

Client Reviews
Francis
I am 104 years old, homebound, mostly blind, and mostly deaf. Jane has been one of my aides for over a year. She is most dependable and always arrives on time. She does many chores for me that are always completed very well. I would reccomend her services to anyone who needs help.
Jeff
I cannot reccomend Jane highly enough. She was one of my aides. When she was offered full time work, she made sure to find me people who I adore to care for me. It's challenging because not only am I chairbound, but I'm homebound too. Jane continues to call and visit me on a volunteer basis. She really cares about me and people in general.

Jane has been an aide for my 96-year-old grandmother for months. She is incredibly kind, patient, and caring. Always punctual, and keeps our family informed about how my grandmother’s doing. Has handled shopping, and setting up doctor’s appointments, and taking her to appointments, as well. And she’s gone above and beyond, filling in on short notice when other aides suddenly became unavailable.

My Services
Alzheimers/Dementia care
I've worked with people in all stages of alzheimers and dementia. I meet my clients memory struggles with kindness and work with them on what tools they find helpful with memory issues. We use sticky note reminders, white boards, timers, photos I print out and laminate with loved ones names, to name a few examples. I customize each clients tools based on their wishes and what they say helps them.

Circulation/mobility/discoloration/fungus, water retention massage
I invented a special massage that reduces ankle/foot swelling/gets rid of discoloration of legs and feet, gets rid of toe nail discoloration, improves circulation, makes feet warm, reduces pain, and improves mobility. It's so wonderful to see my clients improve. Here is a before and after photo from one of my clients I worked on.

The Homebound
I love, love, love my homebound clients. And they grow to love me. I am aware that I'm a huge part of their lives. We dance, and do physical therapy to music. Based on their personal preferences and mobility, I'm happy to engage, or run errands or do projects if they want down time. Many times relatives are the ones who seek me out for the homebound. I make sure my client is well cared for and the families are kept in the loop about any changes, concerns, or sweet moments. I also update the families with photos and phone calls. I also try to call my homebound clients daily.

Help With Hygiene
I help with maintaining good hygiene in a loving, gentle, dignified way. Many people struggle with needed this kind of help and feel especially vulnerable if they need a sponge bath, help with showering, and when they need depends. I get it. Their feelings are valid. We talk about how vulnerable they feel if they bring it up. I encourage independence while ensuring safety and comfort. I love how happy my clients are once they feel fresh and clean

Physical Therapy Support
I work hard to support and encourage physical therapy. I absolutely love seeing my clients make progress. I'm their biggest cheerleader when they do their exercises. I make sure everything is done safely and in conjunction with their physical therapist or PCP.

Hair coloring For The Homebound Or Disabled People
I use a ten minute box dye that covers gray and white. I'm happy to use any dye they wish, or no dye at all. I offer this not to put down silver or white hair. (I have it myself), but simply because several clients really wanted to get their hair dyed and no one would do it till I came along.

Movement/Dancing
I combine physical therapy exercises with movement and dance. I kept two clients mobile by doing this daily with them. They lost all mobility in their legs when I stopped working with them because both they moved. I have a fully mobile client who I dance six songs a day with. She keeps me fit and I keep her fit. I customize the movement based on the mobility, interest and energy of my clients. I love seeing them dance in their wheel chairs and walkers. They love it too. If you have a moment, please click on the two minute video of myself and a client doing movement to music. Link below

Engagement And Activities
I'm a fairly laid back, yet energetic person. I encourage my clients to find a balance between independence and accepting a friendly helping hand. I'm happy to do whatever my clients who are mobile want to do. I love museums and walks in the park. But I will always follow my clients needs and wishes. With less mobile people I just love hearing their stories about their lives. We also call their friends and relatives or I set up video chats. They also usually want to meet all my friends and loved ones. So, we video chat with them too. We sometimes do art projects or play board games or cards.

Point Person/Care Management
I am capable and happy to find doctors and specialists in network. I make doctors appointments and go with my clients to the appointments. I can interview aides, handymen, cleaning people, etc. In fact I always have people wait listed for my services. I also have a list of aides, CNAs, handymen, cleaning people, organizers, etc wgo i pre-screened and would reccomend to my clients. The ones waiting for job openings are absolutely amazing or I wouldn't reccomend them. I also can do scheduling of all the moving parts if my client or the family would like. I'm not trying to take over, but everyone's needs are different. I'm extremely good at cutting through red tape and am willing to do whatever my clients and their families wish to make life less complicated, more comfortable, and make everyone feel at ease.

Personal Assistant/Errands/Shopping
Going through life with and getting everything done is challenging. Today’s world expects us all to be strong and capable, and is built assuming such. My services helps you maintain your independence by helping you navigate daily life tasks. I'm happy to do anything that is in my skill set.

Remote Mental Health Support
I am a huge advocate for mental health. Aging under the best circumstances is very challenging. Adding to that loss of mobility, loss of memory, or other medical issues are overwhelming to everyone I've worked with or spoke with about the topic. I highly reccomend Jaclyn Jones for remote mental Heath support.
Jaclyn Jones LCSW (917)-5541312 Gericare@gmail.com
Jaclyn has provided psychotherapy remotely to seniors for years. She's warm, professional, knows how to make people feel comfortable, and in my opinion is a real lucky find. She is a Medicare Provider (traditional Medicare only) She is a licensed clinical social worker and has many years of experience working in long-term care as a Director of Social Work. Jaclyn specialized in end of life and discharge planning. She truly is committed to the dignity of seniors and has spent her professional career advocating for seniors.

End Of Life Care
End of life care is the hardest part of my life. It is absolutely soul crushing and heartbreaking. But I'm good at it. People want to die with me. I read books, play music etc. I know how to make things fun. But I also know when to hold a clients hand or hug them and cry together or talk about their fears of dying. Nobody wants to die. I let my clients cry, vent, and don't encourage them to bottle up their feelings. I grow to love each and every client, as they grow to love me. Helping a person transition is so important. It's honestly what I do best out of all my services
